Un nuovo capitolo - A new chapter

Ho perso i miei poteri.
Ho perso tutto quello ciò che mi distingueva dagli altri.

A new chapter

A school year has just passed, and it was full of thousands of emotions: I started high school, I have new friends, I attended lots of shows with my dance group. The first year of high school is a close chapter and my friend Luca and I aren't arguing anymore. Now it's time for summer, to spend time with my friends and to do some trainings. I know you think, as I did before you, that everything is going better, but that's not so.
My high school life is going better, but I can't say the same thing for my other life, my real life. Life in which I live my family particular experiences. That life where everything isn't as it seems.
The situation wasn't like this one before: my powers used to manifest themselves day by day and I could, with my parents and my grandma's help, control them.
Now everything has been changed.
It was my fault, I didn't train enough. Grandma says I'm wrong because behind this problem there's so much more than a low training. Anyway, the problem is always the same. The situation is critic and nobody knows how to unlock it. Mum is going to the Old People Council to ask them if they can help me. I need an help to face what happened me in the last three weeks.
I've lost my magical powers.
I've lost everything that used to identify me from other people.

Una decisione su due piedi - A decision on the spot

Una decisione su due piedi

Provo solo rabbia e paura. Perché è dovuto accadere a me?
"Cosa vuoi che me ne importi? Tutte le volte lei rovina sempre tutto!"
"Tutto cosa?
"So che sei mia amica". Me ne resto lì, su due piedi.

A decision on the spot

I can just feel angriness and fear. Angriness because I'd like to be as all the others, and fear because, although, I don't know if I'm good at what I am. Why did this happened to me? What do I have that the others don't have? I don't listen to granny's voice which starts to enter in my mind. I suppose she's saying: "You are special dear, and you know it. Forget your teenage life and go into the new world which from a few months started to surround you". Maybe it should be like that.
Anyway, stop crying! I can't continue wasting my time.
I use the the X-ray view to see if over the door of the bathroom there's somebody, I don't want anybody to see me in this conditions. Free way. I dry my tears and I fix my hair in front of the mirror. Fix... A sort of. Is it possible once in a life having acceptable hair when you're out home too.
Anyway... I go out the bathroom because if I'll continue staying here I would become bad.
Last dry to tears and... I hurt again against Luca. Our meetings will take me to the hospital before or after.
"I was looking for you" he says enthusiastic. "What do you want? Go to you dear Rebecca"
"I'd like to talk you about her. Our relationship isn't working, I need to talk to somebody"
"What I'm supposed to care about it? Every time she ruin everything!"
"What do you mean with everything? Gaia, your bipolar behaviors are tiring me. I thought you were ready to listen to me, as I always listen to you"
"What do you know about me? Leave me alone man" an after saying this, I walk to the class, although I perfectly know that in five minutes I'll meet him again.
"I know you're my friend". These last words said by him have a strange sond, his voice seems different.
I remain here, on the spot.
I don't know if I've to turn and talk of come back to the class. Certain choices sometimes have to be taken quickly.

So I act.

Un misto di rabbia e paura - A mix of angriness and fear

A mix of angriness and fear

"Luca, go away from this... well... sort of girl" his girlfriend Rebecca, saying this, look at me from my head to my feet like I were a nullity. Maybe that's true. She's always pretty: perfect outfit and hair every single day. I barely know if I'm wearing trainers or all star. She take him upstairs running, and he follows her like a little dog, his eyes staring at her.
Rebecca is continuing irritating me. I'd like to spend so e time with him, but every time I try she ruin everything. The image of her dragging him away from me is in my mind for the first two hours of lesson. I try to pay attention to the teacher but I can't, and the fact that Luca is the class mate near my desk doesn't help. The fact is that I don't know what I want, if I want to try or not with him.
"Gaia, in this period you have bigger problems than a boy, and anyway he's not the person for you"
"Granny" I reply, this time in my mind, "I'd like not to think just about my powers, but I'd like to live a life like a simple girl of my age. I want to try new experiences, I want to fell in love with someone, I want to make mistakes to learn from them, I don't want to have so big responsibility already now, I don't want to grow up and to become mature so fast"
"Rossi, could you pay attention to me?" this is the teacher's voice who, with her nineteenth behaviour, interrupts my conversation with granny. Ring of the break time save me, even if the teacher looks at me as she wants to kill me. I try to don't notice it, and I run to the toilet.

I lock me and I let my back slide on the wall of that too little room. I put my hands in my hair and then I move them on my cheeks, to dry my tears. I'm only nervous, I'm sure of it. It's a mix of angriness and fear.

Voglio scassinare quella serratura - I want to pick that lock

Voglio scassinare quella serratura

"E tu dove credi di andare?"
"Luca! Che ci fai qui? Cioè... È logico, stai andando a scuola. Okay, direi che sto parlando a vanvera"
"Infatti, è meglio che tu stia zitta e lasci parlare me.

I want to pick that lock

"Where do you think you are going?"
"Luca! What are you doing here? Well... It's logic, you are going to school. Okay, I'm pratteling"
"Yes, it's better if you shut up and let me talk. But now let's go, it last just five minutes before the beginning of lessons".
He starts to tell me his little successes of last days: the basket match which he won in the weekend, his preparation to the oral Greek test that he's having next week, now I think he's talking about his little sister who had a party for his birthday yesterday, but sincerely I'm not concentrate on what he's saying. I lose my mind in his words at the same velocity than my brain selects the taste off when math lesson starts: in a blink of an eye. Talking about it, his eyelashes are long and thick, and surround a pair of green eyes like emerald of Widzard Oz's city. His raven-black hair put light them, and I try to pick that lock to read his eyes, to understand what there's in his soul. In fact I'd like to know more things of him, I'd like him to tell me his past and his future projects, but he didn't want me to open that lock.
"Maybe know what there's over that door would only wound you" grandma is whispering in my left ear when she didn't have to.
"Grandma, don't annoy me. You are continuing make me bored with your philosophic discourses"
"What? I thought you were happy to know more about me".
Ops, maybe I've just replied out loud and perhaps Luca has just heard me. His disconcerted expression confirm my theory.
"Well, I..." but I can't find words to justify me, to explain him everything don't telling him anything.
